The Liberal Media Has Blood on Its Hands – I

The Hungarian conservative news site Alfahir recently interviewed Daniel Friberg about the dark side of the Swedish multicultural paradise, censorship and self-censorship, the antifa beating people up with the help of the authorities – and why the ‘Real Right’ will win. This is an English translation.

The following interview was published in Hungarian at Alfahír on 29 April 2016. You can find part two here.

Why does a successful Swedish businessman choose the Europe-wide smeared Hungary as his new home?

I take the slanders of the Leftist-liberal media as compliments. Since I’ve been an active Swedish conservative patriot since the age of 18, I have had to get used to it. In this regard, the Swedish media is the worst in Europe: they hate Hungary and every other person or country who steps out of their very narrow, politically correct, Cultural Marxist narrative. So if the Swedish or the Western European media smears you, it’s a great honour, because it basically means that you’re normal.

They insult me just as they insult you. The Swedish state radio recently accused me of having extreme and reactionary ideas – to cite but one example – about gender roles, because I think that men should be men, and women should be women. They made a huge deal out of this, even though most of the Swedish people would agree with me, but the media has entirely extremist views. This is no wonder, since we are speaking about radical Leftists and Leftist-liberals, who have a twisted worldview that has very little to do with reality.

Speaking of the ordinary people, what do they think about the politically correct ‘utopia’ forced upon them by the government?

With each passing day, the Swedish people get more and more fed up with this. In Sweden, more and more people are turning away from the mainstream media since there are no mainstream Right-wing, conservative outlets. All the major newspapers and television channels are monopolized by liberals or socialists, which provides a horrible media environment. Compared to this, Hungary is a paradise. (laughter)

As a result, several alternative media channels have emerged and grown rapidly over the last ten years. It’s basically an entirely new, rapidly growing grassroots initiative. We have a national-conservative weekly and two widely-read online news sites, which currently have a monthly readership amounting to roughly 1.5 million people each. This means that our views are reaching a significant segment of the Swedish society, as according to official statistics, the Swedish population currently stands at around ten million people, but out of those, about two million are non-European. They came to Sweden during the last thirty years, or else are descendants of these non-European immigrants.

What is the attitude of the Swedish people towards these immigrants?

At first, everybody was fine with it. They shared the common Western European ‘refugees welcome’ nonsense attitude. Everybody thought that ‘the strange is beautiful’, and that our own culture and history is horrible and shameful. It was a common notion that we should be ashamed for being Swedish. We were taught in school and through our media to feel responsibility for the historical oppression of non-Europeans. This is quite ridiculous, as in Sweden’s case as we stayed out of both World Wars and also, for the most part, the era of colonisation. Our only colony was a tiny island in the Caribbean which we ruled for 94 years before selling it to France. This was our big sin. (laughter)

The whole narrative is Cultural Marxist, Leftist nonsense which is designed to make the Swedish people ashamed of their heritage and national identity, and to feel obligated to help everybody in the world other than themselves. This was the attitude in the beginning, but since then, a lot of horrible things have happened in Sweden that have had a serious impact on the general attitude towards immigration.

For example, last August, an African ‘migrant’ brutally killed a Swedish mother and her son in an IKEA for the sole reason that they looked Swedish and he was angry at the state because his asylum request had been denied. So he simply slit their throats in the middle of the store. These sorts of tragedies, which are numerous, have caused ordinary Swedes to realize that perhaps these ‘migrants’ are not so wonderfully exotic and that immigration is not so fantastic after all.

If Swedish society is dominated by Cultural Marxism and liberalism to such a great extent, how did you become a conservative? Can we call you a conservative to any extent?

I’d rather use the word traditionalist. Although conservative can be a good term, it can also be easily misunderstood or misinterpreted. One interpretation is that being conservative means nothing more than desiring to bring back the social norms and conditions of 50 or 60 years ago, but obviously this is not enough to solve Europe’s problems. I believe in traditions based on eternal values. And of course I’m also a nationalist. I think that an important element of traditionalism is the protection of your own nation and cultural identity.

What was the road which led you to this standpoint? What was your youth like?

I grew up during the early phase of mass immigration into Sweden, so I enjoyed a very safe, middle class environment. I went to a school where 99 percent of the students were Swedish, so during my childhood I didn’t face any problems. When I was 12, my attitude very much conformed to what was expected according to the pop-cultural propaganda of American TV shows and the film industry, as well as the Swedish state media: I was more or less Left-wing. This was a typically childish worldview, filtered by the media – I had no idea that immigration and multiculturalism could be dangerous for my culture.

But when I started seventh grade, I was made to attend another school which had a lot of immigrants. It was a real cultural shock. Around 25 percent of the pupils were Albanians, Arabs and Africans. They were dealing drugs, molesting the Swedish girls, and they sometimes even carried weapons to school. When I was 14, a migrant gang threatened me with a pistol because they considered me to be a ‘racist’. Well, it was somewhat true, of course, because I had had enough of them quite quickly. Still, I was very open to them in the beginning. I thought that these people were just like everyone else, as I believed that ‘we are all the same and all equal’, along with all the other clichés I had been taught since childhood.

But as I got to know them better, I realised that none of this was true – all throughout my childhood I had been lied to by the media, my parents, and the educational system. This caused me to wonder about what else they had hidden from me. This is how I began my intellectual journey and doing my own research. I always read a lot of books during my childhood, but it was at this time that I also acquired an interest in ideology, politics, and history. I soon realised that they had lied to us about almost everything. We were all living in a big lie.

The first major topic I was engaged with was – obviously – Sweden’s immigration policies and multiculturalism. I read works by many authors who were harshly criticising immigration. Many of these books are hard to get, even today, since they can’t be sold in ordinary bookshops in Sweden, and are rare even in libraries.

Does this mean that there is official censorship in Sweden?

Yes, there is total censorship. My own book would never be sold in any Swedish bookstore, for example, although here in Hungary you can find it in many bookshops. Over the last 30 years, at least a hundred books have been released which are critical of Sweden’s immigration policies, but none of them can be found in the bookshops. This is almost Soviet-level censorship, and the level of social oppression is on the same level. Of course, they are not killing or imprisoning us, but they find other ways to make people shut their mouths and stop voicing their criticisms. The self-censorship that emerges from this is one of the biggest problems in contemporary Swedish society.

Only now are people are starting to turn against this. For thirty years, the majority of Swedes were afraid to criticise immigration because they were terrified that the media and government mafia, working in tandem, would punish them. There is no pluralism in the media regarding the important issues of our time. All the various mainstream outlets operate in perfect accord.

A good example of this just occurred recently, when the seven biggest newspapers and the three most-watched television stations in Sweden all conspired to cover up crimes that had been committed during a summer music festival organised for young people by the Stockholm municipality. This festival, which lasted for several days, was organised in the spirit of anti-racism, peace, and love. Admission was free, which meant that many migrant youths also attended. Thanks to this, about 100 Swedish girls and young women between the ages of 14 and 30 were sexually molested, just like in Cologne a few months later. Nothing appeared in the media about this.

The police officers and the victims who were involved spoke to journalists from the mainstream media who were present at the festival. At first they were very interested, but when they realised that the attacks had been committed by Middle Easterners and Africans, it had no news value whatsoever for them anymore. For eight months, only the victims and their relatives knew what had happened. If the journalists had done their jobs instead of worrying about whether or not the news would lead to ‘racism’, they could have prevented other young women from being molested. This shows how unprincipled and immoral these people are. The Swedish mainstream media has blood on its hands.

It was only the Swedish alternative media which finally broke the story – a smaller but very active alternative news outlet named Nyheter Idag (News Today). We also published a detailed article series about it on RightOn.net, which was cited by several foreign news outlets such as Magyar Hirlap, so on this occasion we managed to build a bridge between the Swedish alternative media and the international press.

Let’s speak a bit about your book, The Real Right Returns. There are Right-wing parties all over Europe, so why should the Right return, and anyway, what is the ‘real Right’?

For many years there has been a trend in Sweden and Western Europe which I refer to as the ‘pseudo-Right’, which is basically the liberal Right. These are not genuine Right-wing parties. As the title of my book suggests, we should point out the differences between the false marketing of the pseudo-Right – which is based on Leftist and Cultural Marxist ideas, as well as liberalism which, after all, is a revolutionary, Leftist ideology – and the real Right. The American neocons also represent this ‘false Right’. They are former Trotskysts who infiltrated the Republican Party and seized power there. Neoconservatism has nothing to do with real conservatism – this is just a false, very liberal form of ‘conservatism’ combined with a very aggressive, interventionist (and often Zionist) foreign policy which most often serves the interests of Israel rather than the United States.

Neocons are really Leftists, except for a few symbolic positions that they adopt like opposition to gay marriage. In this way they make people think that they are Right wing, but in practice, the deeds of neoconservative presidents don’t differ much from those of the Democrats. This is why it’s so fascinating when somebody like Donald Trump appears, whom I regard as part of the return of the real Right.

Here in Hungary, and in Eastern Europe in general, this trend has been present for a long time, but it’s quite a new phenomenon in Western Europe. Of course, parties like the French National Front or the Sweden Democrats have been in existence for a while, but in general, with the exception of the Austrian Freedom Party, they have been marginal forces. But now we witness a trend reflecting an explosive rise in popularity of these parties.

This tendency is not at all unexpected, considering that Europe is under attack and that we are in the middle of an invasion. The return of the real Right is like the appearance of antibodies to fight the infection that is currently plaguing Europe.

Is this sudden rise in popularity only a result of mass immigration?

Granted, it’s a more complicated process, but immigration plays the biggest role as this is the most visible problem for ordinary people. Most people in Western Europe don’t care about politics and ideology. They want to live their lives, raise their children, and work in peace, so they don’t bother thinking about the crazy things that are going on in public life or the universities, for example. They don’t care because it has no direct impact on their daily lives. But immigration affects nearly everyone nowadays, especially since last year’s big migration wave.

In Sweden, there are almost no available flats anymore. The immigration office buys up or rents almost all the properties they can just to be able to accommodate the never-ending flow of ‘migrants’. Often these days, young Swedes have great difficulties in finding their first apartment. Some of them end up living with their parents until the age of 25 or even 30.

Unemployment is incredibly high, and the government tries to cover it up by creating subsidised jobs for migrants or meaningless projects, paid for, of course, by the taxpayers’ money. Recently, the Swedish state has had to take out huge loans to be able to pay for the migrants. In this way they are creating many social and economic problems that will impact Swedish society in the future, without solving the actual problem.

What’s more, to keep it less visible, they have been keeping the base interest rate at almost zero percent, which means that people’s pension savings accrue hardly any interest, so those who are now in their thirties and forties will have next to nothing to live on by the time they reach retirement age. In twenty years, no one will be able to live on these retirement pensions. When this happens, it will be too late to do anything about it.

We have approximately two million non-Europeans living in Sweden, of which many can’t even speak our language, and a significant percentage of those – despite all the statistical hocus-pocus and alibi jobs – are unemployed. Many have no intention whatsoever of assimilating or integrating. What’s more, many of them are radical Muslims who openly talk about conquering Sweden and implementing Sharia law, which would effectively make Sweden an Islamic country.

And they are talking about it so openly?

Absolutely. The imams are openly preaching this message in many mosques. Of course, the media doesn’t report it, but there are a few honest Muslims who talk about what is being preached to them: they are encouraged to take over Europe, have more children, and bring more and more of their people here.

So there are Muslims who want to integrate and who denounce this kind of behaviour.

Of course, there are people like this, but not very many. Those few moderate or former Muslims who dare to criticise immigration and Islam are very brave, and they are in many cases also those who have converted to Christianity. For the most part, they are the ones who are exposing this trend among Swedish Muslims.

Is the media discriminating against them, as it is against those native Swedes who dare to criticise these trends?

Yes, but less so. The Cultural Marxist journalists working in the media will always be more gentle with those who are not White. But if you are a native Swede, nothing holds them back. I learned that lesson for myself very early in life.

At the age of 19, after I began to investigate the truth about the connection between immigration and crime – back then, authentic statistics about this were more widely available – together with some friends, I used my own savings to create a quite professional magazine which promoted nationalism and criticized the multicultural project, which we distributed in Stockholm and Gothenburg. We distributed 25,000 copies in this way by mailing them to students in individually addressed envelopes. It was a lot of work, and I spent nearly all of my savings on it.

Of course, the Left side immediately noticed what we were doing. First they sued me for ‘hate speech’, but I committed no crime, even according to the extremely biased Swedish laws, since criticising immigration and multiculturalism doesn’t count as incitement against an ethnic group. Needless to say, this didn’t stop the media from undertaking a serious smear campaign against me.

It was a genuine historical event in the history of the European media when, in 1999, the biggest Swedish newspapers, which are normally competing with each other, undertook a coordinated attack against me and many others who had dared to speak out against immigration. This is also an example that illustrates how synchronized the Swedish media really is. The point of the campaign was to show my picture, name, and city on the covers of their publications, along with those of various criminals, murderers, members of the Hell’s Angels motorcycle gang, and actual neo-Nazis. The headline was ‘Here are the 62 Most Dangerous Nazis and Criminals who Threaten our Democracy’.

I was 21 at the time, and my only sin was publishing a magazine that criticised Sweden’s immigration policy and its failed multicultural experiment – which the Swedish media falsely labeled a ‘White Power magazine’ to make it seem more extreme than it actually was. For that, they made my personal data public in a way which made it possible for anyone to identify me, find me, or get me sacked from my job. I was pictured on the same page with bank robbers and cop killers. All of this was furthermore broadcast through the state television network several times during that day to ensure that no citizen could possibly miss it. Among the 62 people whose photos and personal details were included in this campaign, many lost their jobs, and at least one young man committed suicide shortly after.

But what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and for me personally, this atrocity only strengthened my beliefs, and on that day I made a commitment to myself to fight this corrupt media-political oligarchy, regardless of the personal consequences, until it is destroyed.

Have you been attacked because of this?

Yes, shortly after this, the Swedish anti-fascist movement – which has a very strong relationship with the Swedish media – began a personalized terror campaign against me: they vandalized my car and fired gunshots through my window. But the most brutal thing they did happened right after the media campaign. One evening, when I was arriving home, three people in ski masks, dressed in black and armed with baseball bats, were waiting for me in front of my parking space. As I got out of my car, they surrounded me and tried to break my kneecaps. Had my neighbour not noticed it and called the police, they could very well have succeeded in crippling me for life. Instead, I got away with just a few bruises.

The Swedish secret service didn’t try very hard to find them, even though I recognised two of them by their voices and body shapes and identified them as members of the local anti-fascist movement. Their first response was that I should expect things like this if I was publishing a magazine which criticises immigration. Then they said that yes, of course they can help me if I start working for them by betraying my friends and reporting back to them. They told me that they would protect me from these attacks, but what’s more, they offered to get me a good new job and a flat, but for this I would have to cooperate with them.

I politely turned down their offer, since obviously, if I were this corrupt and they could have bought me off in such a way, I wouldn’t have become politically active in such a dangerous cause in the first place. Then they started threatening me. They told me that if I didn’t accept their offer, ‘the antifa could very easily find out your new address, and that would be very unfortunate’. I declined any further contact with them and just walked out of the room – and it was then that I realised that they would not lift a finger to investigate the attack on me.

I understand that this sounds almost unbelievable for people who live in normal countries, although in Hungary under Communism, these methods might have been common. But it’s hard for people to believe this about Sweden, which is imagined as a peaceful, happy, and free country. In reality, the state is ruled very strictly in a ”soft totalitarian” way. If necessary, they will try to make it impossible for dissidents to live a normal life, often financially but sometimes even physically.

Of course, they delegate such violence to the antifascists, who often have the freedom to do whatever they want without risking negative media coverage, and they’re rarely investigated properly for their crimes against dissidents from the system.

This was my first experience with Swedish politics. It was very illuminating and made me realise that it wouldn’t be an easy fight, but I passed the test. After this, the ‘antifascist’ movement left me alone, probably because they figured that it wouldn’t make sense to go to further trouble over me. They realised that they couldn’t scare me, and that they would now have to either kill or ignore me. They obviously chose the latter. (laughter)

  • Did your early involvement politics hamper your entrance into the mining industry? Here in Canada, the industry is quite conservative and full of somewhat outrageous characters who have actual experience in third world countries and thus, a far more race realist outlook than your average person.
